Interaction - Generalist

This fully functional e-commerce site includes a dynamic product customization feature, a complete shopping cart and checkout flow, and PayPal API integration (feel free to explore—just don’t complete a real purchase). The front-end also includes a members page, while the back-end admin dashboard is openly accessible for review—no login required. Note: Some features are limited or read-only for demo purposes.

Built to match the client’s vision, this clean and intuitive website was designed with simplicity and usability in mind. The goal: showcase their exceptional craftsmanship with a straightforward, no-frills user experience. Navigation is streamlined, and featured projects are clearly highlighted—making it easy for prospective clients to explore their work. Contact options were intentionally limited to phone and email, as requested, to keep communication direct and personal. After launch, the client retained me for ongoing updates and support, ensuring the site continues to meet their evolving needs.

This project marks where my web design journey began back in 2019, when I created the original site for Feel The Bern SFV, a grassroots social justice organization. In February 2025, I returned to update the site—this time applying the UX design expertise I’ve since developed. Collaborating closely with the Executive Board, I led the redesign through a full UX process, including research, wireframing, and user-centered improvements. Gaining approval on wireframes before development helped streamline the build, saving both time and resources. Following launch, the E-Board voted to extend my contract, allowing me to manage updates and serve as site administrator during a critical transition period.

This project was the culmination of my work in the Google UX Design Certificate program through Coursera, where I gained hands-on experience across the full UX design process. As a generalist-level course, the program covered everything from foundational research to high-fidelity prototyping. Throughout the course, I worked through real-world UX practices including user research, empathy mapping, journey mapping, wireframing, usability testing, and iterative design. I used tools like Figma to create low- and high-fidelity prototypes, conducted usability studies, and synthesized findings into actionable design solutions. The experience deepened my understanding of information architecture, accessibility, design systems, and cross-platform interface design—laying a strong foundation for a career in UX.
